World Book Day

We had lots of fun on World Book Day at St. Helen's and the children's costumes were fantastic!
Here's a sneaky peak at what we got up to:

The whole school in collective worship.

Class 4 all dressed up - fantastic!

Miss Jones' family group read the book 'The Jolly Postman' and wrote letters to and from famous story characters.

In Mrs Lewis' family group we read the book 'Toys in Space' by Mini Grey. We then carried out lots of activities to explore the different parts of the story. Here is a taster of what the children got up to...

Creating a starry night sky.

Designing and making space ships.

Making 'Hoctopize' puppets - the alien in the story.

Making parachutes and labels to return the lost toys to their proper homes.

Planning a party to cheer up Hoctopize.
